How the platform works, module by module. Your home screen shows the modules your school has turned on for you, so you may not see every one listed here.
The basics of getting around Stand To.
Everything starts at the home screen. Each card is a module. Tap a card to open it. Come back to the home screen any time to switch to another module.
Your home screen shows the modules your administrator turned on for your account. A colleague may see more or fewer than you do. If you need a module that isn't there, ask your Stand To administrator to turn it on.
The What's new button at the top of the home screen lists recent changes, newest first. A dot on the button means there's an update you haven't opened yet.
If your school runs A/B days, today's letter shows at the top of the home screen. Admins and coverage staff can tap it to correct the letter if it's wrong.
Quick links are shortcuts your school sets on the home screen. Everyone at the school sees the same set.
Stand To runs in any web browser. On a phone or tablet, add it to your home screen and open it like an app.
Track who's here, who's late, and where staff stand watch.
Kiosk and staff check-in, automatic consequences, parent alerts, reports, and printable passes.
Issue and time hall passes, see who is out right now, and flag long or frequent passes. Scan student IDs with the camera.
Once your class schedules are uploaded and your Class periods have start and end times, a new pass fills in where the student is coming from: room, teacher, and period. The kiosk does the same. Staff can type over it. Teachers can switch Out now to My class to see only their own students.
Anyone with Hall Pass access can issue passes, including the nurse, front office, counselors, and security. To send a student back, pick Back to class. Stand To fills in their current class, and From starts as Office with one-tap choices like Nurse or Counselor. The teacher sees the pass under My class, marked Headed to you, and taps Return when the student walks in.
Admins can hold passes at the start and end of each class under Settings, Restricted times. Pick how many minutes and which destinations, such as Bathroom and Water. Nurse, Office, Counselor, and Back to class are never held. During those minutes, staff see a warning and can tap Issue anyway, which shows as an override in History. The kiosk tells students when passes open and to ask their teacher. Students on the Always allowed list can get a pass any time, with no warning and no reason recorded. Restricted times need Class periods with start and end times.
Track each student up the truancy intervention ladder: notices, SART, and SARB. Rungs seed from California law and you rename them. Set unexcused counts by hand or import them from your SIS. The ladder tracks the process; it does not take attendance.
Import takes a CSV or Excel file from your SIS or district, even one with a title row above the headers. Before anything saves, you see which column feeds each field and can change any that are wrong. Only the student ID is required. Unexcused absences and unexcused 30-minute tardies feed the ladder. Days enrolled and days absent for any reason give each student's absence rate. Unverified absences show what the office still needs to clear. A file that leaves a field out never erases what's already there. Each import also saves a dated snapshot of each student's counts, so progress can be tracked over time. History starts with the first import after this feature shipped.
Each student's page shows their absence rate and flags chronic absenteeism at 10% or more. That rate counts every absence, excused or not. The ladder counts unexcused only, the way truancy law does. The worklist shows students with an unexcused count, the chronic truancy flag, or an open case, so importing your full roster doesn't crowd it.
Assign supervision posts by day-part: arrival, passing periods, lunch, dismissal. Set who stands where every day, then mark a post open or reassign it for a single day from the board.
Teachers set their own recurring after-school block, then confirm each day they hold it with one tap, plus a note and any students who came. A late start or early leave logs as an exception with a reason. The Start and Stop clock is optional presence evidence; it doesn't set your hours, your block does. Your log is visible only to you and an admin.
Admins set the requirement, which days count, the minimum length, and an allowed window, and see a school-wide view of who held their hours each week.
File incidents, run consequences, and recognize good work.
File behavior referrals, sort minor from major, and track outcomes. Reports break down referrals by behavior, location, time of day, and student.
Schedule and track detention and consequence serving.
Schedule in-school suspension dates, assign students, and keep a daily record of who showed up and who was a no-show. Auto-assigns from repeat tardy sweeps for admin review.
Recognize students for attendance, achievement, leadership, and citizenship. Tap a category to log it. Reports break down recognitions by category, student, and grade.
See the whole student and stay in front of problems.
One read-only view per student: tardies, hall-pass time, referrals, recognitions, and consequences, pulled together from every module.
Teachers and other staff with the student lookup see a student's Grade alerts, the Ds and Fs from each marking period, along with the family contact log.
On the full profile, staff with Grade Alerts access also see an Assessments card: each test's scale score, placement, and level for every window, by school year.
IEP at a Glance shows a student's accommodations and modifications, grouped as Environmental, Instructional, and Testing, with modifications set apart because they change what gets graded. Teachers see plans only for students in their own classes. My classes lists each period with the students who have plans and a count of testing accommodations, like how many get extended time. Case managers see their caseload under My caseload and keep plans current. If your school keeps IEP documents in a Drive folder, the link sits under the plan.
Mentors see only the students assigned to them, with tardies, referrals, and grade flags at a glance, and log a short check-in each time they meet. Students overdue for a check-in sort to the top. Assign mentors on the student profile.
Focal groups are sets of students a team watches together, like 9th graders with 2+ Fs or seniors off track. Admins create a group, name the staff on it, and add students. Open a group to see whether it's working. Stand To records the day each student joins, then compares before with since: Ds and Fs for every marking period, with periods imported after joining shaded; late arrivals per week before joining and since; and, for staff with Attendance access, the year-to-date absence rate when they joined against the rate for just the days since. Green means better, red means worse. The view also shows each student's mentor and last check-in. Staff with Grade Alerts access see a column for each assessment, like i-Ready Reading, with the first score of the school year, the latest, and the latest level. Staff named on a group see only their groups. A student can be in more than one group.
Needs support lists students in trouble in the latest marking period who have no mentor and aren't in any focal group. In trouble means 2+ Fs, Ds and Fs in 3 or more classes (a D doesn't meet A-G), or an F and chronically absent. Check students and add them to a group, or jump to Assign mentors. A student comes off the list once they have a mentor or join an active focal group. Admins only.
Import grades from your SIS by marking period. Use every student's marks, not just Ds and Fs: Stand To pulls the D/F list out of the same file, and the full file adds the honor roll and who improved or slipped. A D/F-only file still works without those. D and F flags show up on the student profile next to attendance and referrals, so a counselor sees the full picture in one place. Importing a marking period again replaces what was there, so a corrected file never doubles up.
The Dashboard tab shows counts at the top: 3+ Fs, 2 Fs, 1 F, 9th graders with 2+ Fs, and seniors with Fs. Tap a count to show only those students, and tap it again to show everyone. Tap any column name to sort. Search by name or student ID. Tap a student to see each class in period order with the teacher, mark, and absences. Where the Fs are ranks courses by F count; its header shows the top course, and a tap opens the full list.
Honor roll and movement sits under those counts once a period has every student's marks. It shows your honor lists, like Straight A, Principal's Honor Roll, and Honor Roll, plus who improved and who slipped since the last marking period. Improved means GPA rose by 0.5 or more or the student came off the D/F list; Slipped is the reverse. Tap a count to see the names, with GPA before and after and the reason, then add them to a focal group. GPA here is calculated from the imported marks, unweighted, with plus and minus ignored. It is not the official GPA. Admins set list names, cutoffs, and the 0.5 threshold in Grade Alerts Settings.
The Cross-check tab lines up each flagged student's grades with their late arrivals from Tardy & Check-In and how often they were late to classes they're failing. A late arrival counts against that day's first class, following your A/B schedule if your school runs one. Staff with Attendance access also see each student's absence rate from the attendance import. Students with the most warning signs sort to the top. Tap a count to filter and a column name to sort, same as the Dashboard. Once reading results are imported, a Reading column shows each student's latest level and score, with an F and reading far below count.
The Assessments tab holds reading and math screener results, like i-Ready, STAR, or a state test. An admin sets up each test once in Setup: its name, its windows (Fall, Winter, Spring), and how its placements map to four common levels: Far below, Below, Near, and At or above. i-Ready has a ready-made setup. Import a CSV or Excel export for each window; Stand To reads the test, window, and year from the file where it can, and you check the columns before anything saves. Results show the test's own score and placement, the common level, and score change since the first window. Tap a level count, pick a grade, or set a score range to filter, then add those students to a focal group. Students who didn't take the test show as Not tested.
On any of these tabs, once a filter is on, admins and staff with full profile access can add those students to a focal group in one step, either an existing group or a new one. Manage groups in the Mentor module.
Anonymous student reporting through a QR code. Staff get notified by category: safety, bullying, drugs, mental health, and more. Admin tracks every report and who was notified.
Fill gaps, get into classrooms, and plan the year.
Substitute and internal coverage, a payroll-ready coverage report, plus the daily announcements, events, and action items board.
Teacher schedules fill in from the class schedule upload on the Students page, with free periods marked Prep so the board knows who can cover. Each upload replaces them for every teacher in the file. Staff not in the file, like security or counselors, keep what you entered by hand. Set each teacher's usual room once in the Room column on Staff & Schedules, and it shows on the Schedule Board and on hall passes. The board shows each class on one line with the room underneath; hover or tap a class to see every section in it.
Alternate schedules like minimum days, finals, and rallies are set up under Class periods in the top-right menu, with their own periods and times. Pick which one a date uses on the Today tab.
Fast classroom walkthroughs with trend reports.
Plan next year's sections and assign teachers to periods on one board, with live load and section-count checks. Hands a clean draft to your SIS.
The Guide tab walks you through the build in six steps: set a timeline, count requests, check staffing, place singletons first, build the board, then review and export. Enter the date schedules go to students and each milestone gets a due date. Each step marks itself done as you finish it, and once all six are done the module opens on the Board.
Import request counts on the Courses tab with a CSV of Course, Department, Requests, Cap, and Grade. Download the template there to see the format. The staffing check compares sections needed in each department against what your teachers can carry, so you see a shortage before you build. Set a grade on single-section courses, and the board outlines any two for the same grade placed in the same period.
Plan test sessions: rooms, capacity, and proctor assignments on one grid. Flags a proctor who is teaching, out that day, or double-booked, and rooms over capacity.
Handle facilities, IDs, and athletics.
Staff report campus issues: broken tech, repairs, facility requests. The front office fixes in-house, files the district work order, or declines with a reason. Reporters see every status change.
Take student photos with a webcam and print student ID cards on a card printer or a paper sheet. Photos save to each student and appear across the platform. Cards use your school name, colors, and logo, with a scannable barcode of the student ID.
Build teams by sport and level, assign head and assistant coaches, and manage rosters. Roster athletes from your student list or add neighborhood players who attend another school. Print a clean roster for any team. For each enrolled athlete, the athletic director sees referrals, ISS, detention, and grade flags in one place.
Setup and oversight tools for admins.
Building-level view of tardies, referrals, in-school suspension, and coverage gaps across a date range you set, with change against the prior period.
Set targets on the dashboard to track progress against your goals.
Add staff, assign roles, and set which modules each person can use. This is where you turn modules on or off for a colleague's account.
Manage the student roster, import from a CSV, and activate or deactivate students. Upload class schedules here too, one row per student per class, so teachers see their own classes in IEP at a Glance. The same upload fills teacher schedules on the Coverage board and tells Hall Pass where each student should be. Room is optional. Teachers the upload can't match to the Coverage roster are listed on the result screen, where you link each one to an existing entry or add them as new.
From the user menu you can set three kinds of links: staff links that show on the home page for everyone, school links that show on the dashboard for admins, and personal links that only you see.
